Noa Seru

US Climate Ready

Noa’s work experience began as high school science teacher in Fiji before joining the Government of Fiji civil service. He then worked with the Australian Development Aid Program and then the Pacific Islands Forum Secretariat.

Noa is currently engaged as a Senior Policy and Finance Advisor with the USAID-funded Climate Ready project a Pacific regional project focussed on climate financing. Noa has a collective of over 25 years’ experience in development work in:

Climate change mitigation work with the Fiji Department of Energy in managing the implementation of renewable energy projects and supporting energy efficient initiatives in Fiji

Roll-out of climate change adaptation projects in the Pacific region with the Australian aid program, and 

Supporting climate financing technical initiatives in the Pacific, specifically to Fiji, Kiribati, Samoa, Tonga & Tuvalu. 

Noa is a graduate of the University of the South Pacific with a Bachelor of Science degree, the University of Melbourne with a Post Graduate Diploma in Engineering and the University of Queensland with a Masters of Development Practice with a minor thesis titled “Disability and natural hazards: Understanding inequitable access through the lens of critical feminism.”

Noa is passionate with development work, particularly in the climate change with specific interest in adaptation and mitigation work and supporting climate finance initiatives in the Pacific region. Noa welcomes opportunities that challenge his abilities and hopes his contribution to the Youth4Pacific Pre-COP Gathering will support and strengthen the voice and participation of the Pacific youth in national, regional and international forums.
